Starting today, Vassar is greeting its digital visitors in a whole new way.
Our homepage, www.vassar.edu, has been completely revamped. “We’re showing many more facets of the college, giving those who visit us online a real sense of what it’s like to be here,” said Daria Robbins, Director of Web Strategy and Development in the Office of Communications. “We’ve created a holistic, visitor-focused approach to how we present Vassar to the world online.”
Users are taken to a screen that is adorned with multiple, rotating images depicting the beauty of the campus and the dynamic nature of campus life. And within a couple of clicks, they can move to pages that focus on every phase of the Vassar experience, from admissions to academics, athletics to campus events. “You can find every page we’ve created without having to leave the homepage to look for it,” Robbins said. “And every page invites you to take some kind of action, such as applying for admission, making a donation to the college or viewing a soccer game.”
Amanita Duga-Carroll, Vice President of Communications, said the new homepage will not only be more useful to those who are already members of the Vassar community but to new visitors as well.
“For many people—prospective students and their parents, high school guidance counselors and others—our homepage is their first contact with the College. The changes we’ve made help them see right away the vibrant world that is Vassar, said Duga-Carroll.
“I’d like to congratulate everyone on the Communications team for their hard work on this and other initiatives that help us tell the story of Vassar,” said Vassar President Elizabeth Bradley.
